In the month of October 2010, casting calls for the movie revealed that the movie might need to undergo a number of reshoots. Some scenes in which Adriana Barraza was removed from the final theatrical cut of the movies in the month of March 2011. To justify these cuts, Branagh wrote an apology letter in which she explained why he decided to not include those scenes in the final movie.

The score of the Thor was written by composer Patrick Doyle. Branagh has before worked with Patrick and knows that he is fit for this job. When asked to describe Thor, Patrick said, “the most commercially high profile film I have done since Frankenstein”.
